Robotics and Aquaponics receive $3000 from the Roscoe Village Neighbors

Congratulations to the Robotics and Aquaponics program, who through the help of our Friends of Lane, received a $3000 donation from the Roscoe Village Neighbors!  The donation also supports the upcoming Green & Gold Gala.  Thank you to Dave Huter and all the members of the Roscoe Village Neighbors!

Weekend Wins

Congratulations to the Lane Tech Math Team for finishing first in their division in this weekend's CCML (City of Chicago Math League) competition here at Lane Tech.

The team was led with a first place finish by the Algebra 1 team, and 2nd place finishes by the Geometry, Algebra 2, and Pre-calculus Teams.

Additionally, freshman Ari Greenberg placed 2nd in Algebra 1 (Accelerated), sophomore Maggie Scholle placed 3rd in Geometry (Accelerated), and junior Johan Villanueva placed 3rd in Algebra 2 (In Progress).

Lane finished in 2nd place at the Academic Decathlon City Championships!  State qualifiers were:

Of the 90 subject area medals awarded (10 events x 3 medals x 3 academic divisions) Lane won 22 (over twice as many as last year).  In addition, Celso (Trey) Fuentes and Crystal Pham won the overall silver and bronze medals in the Varsity Division, respectively.  Our team finished second in the SuperQuiz competition.

LT Chess Takes 10th at State!

Congratulations to the Lane Tech Chess Team for finishing 10th at the 41st annual IHSA State Chess tournament this weekend!  The tournament hosted 146 teams and 1400 students.  Lane was the highest ranking CPS team (Whitney Young 13, Northside 17, Payton 35, Lincoln Park 39).  Kudos to Zhuoxun Jiang, Jeremy Prince, and Phillip Tan for earning medals and finishing in the top 5 of their boards.

Senior Debt Deadline - April 16

In order to walk at graduation, all senior debts must be paid by April 16.

CPD Junior Citizen Award

Congratulations to Frederick Weichmann (Sr), Sofia Rodriguez (Sr), and Mae Christianson (Jr) on receiving the Chicago Park District's Junior Citizen Award!  The studunts are being honored on February 19 for their outstanding service to their local Chicago Park.  Go Lane Go!

Computer Science Fair 2015

Interested in learning about app development? Websites? Programming? Robotics? Want to investigate if the computer science field is for you?   Zero experience? Beginner? Intermediate or advanced? All are welcome to participate!

CS Fair Overview:

Last Call for Yearbooks

The Lane Tech Arrowhead and LTAC Artifacts yearbooks are still available for purchase, but not for long!  Sales will end on February 27th as we are required to submit our final numbers to the printers. Unlike years past, NO EXTRAS will be available after the books arrive. Arrowhead yearbooks are $55 and LTAC Artifacts are $45.  Books can be purchased with cash or money order to Ms. Jennings in Room 137 or directly online at www.jostens.com.  Not sure whether or not you've already purchased a copy?  Check the list hanging outside of ROOM 137.

Beginning tomorrow, students may log onto this course registration site to view assigned course request times.  This information will only be available to students who have completed the 2015 My Voice, My School Student Survey.  If you complete the survey after February 10, you must wait 24 hours before viewing your course request time and/or accessing the course registration site.

Parents, please visit the parent page to link your account.  If your account is linked, you will receive approximately 5 emails during the course registration process.  Each email will contain important information regarding your child's course selections for the 2015-2016 school year.

Alexandra Kwasny named Assistant Concertmaster for IMEA All-State Orchestra

After a day of auditions, our Sinfonietta Concertmaster Alexandra Kwasny has officially earned the Assistant Concertmaster position of the IMEA All-State Orchestra. This means that she is the second-best violinist in the entire state of Illinois!

The orchestra consists of the top student musicians in the state, playing professional-level music.
