Congratulations to Ricky Zapata, one of our student trumpeters who received membership into the "National Youth Orchestra of The USA." Musically speaking this is huge as only 120 members are chosen from across the entire country and he was the only one from Chicago chosen except for an alternate trombone player. He will be embarking on a world tour this summer performing at some of the greatest musical venues.
Lane's Academic Decathlon finished 2nd in the City Championships this past weekend! Of the 90 subject area medals awarded (10 events x 3 medals x 3 academic divisions) Lane won 10. In addition, Fiona McKeon won the overall silver medal in the Varsity Division. Our team finished second in the SuperQuiz competition. Individual medal winners are listed below:
